Hi, I’m Krystal — a contemporary acrylic painter based in Michigan.
I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. As a kid, drawing was where I felt the most like myself. It gave my thoughts and emotions somewhere safe to exist when I didn’t always have the words for them. Art was never really a hobby for me — it was how I made sense of the world.
In 2023, I returned to painting in a much deeper and more intentional way. What began as a personal outlet quickly became something transformative. My work now focuses on healing, growth, intuition, and the in-between stages of becoming — the quiet moments where you’re changing even if no one else can see it yet.
I paint intuitively and rarely start with a strict plan. I let color, texture, and movement guide each piece, allowing emotion to lead instead of logic. Because of that, my paintings aren’t meant to be interpreted one specific way. They’re meant to be felt. Each one holds a moment, a memory, or a release.
I hold a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, but painting is where I feel most honest. My work has been shown in local exhibitions, and my long-term dream is to one day have my art displayed at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
